Starring the stunning Anya Taylor Joy this show was watched by 62 million households and has only received glowing reviews. Complete with the marvellous 1950s and 60s aesthetic this show can hardly fail- plus the streets of Canada played a large role in the gorgeous scenes and shots of this show! The quaint childhood house and street in which many scenes revolve around is actually in Cambridge, Ontario and the shops that Harmon visits is the delightful Bohemian Palace Café in Hamilton. Firefly Lane
This feel good show follows a decade long friendship of two best friends, beginning in the 70s as teens together and up to the 2000s as grown women. One friend, played by Katherine Heigl, is a loud, famous TV host and the other, played by Sarah Chalke is a more reserved, recently divorced mother looking to get herself back onto the workforce. This show is all about friendship, resilience and love. Definitely the kind of show to watch with your own girlfriends! Based on the bestselling novel by Kristin Hannah, this story captured the attentions of millions and was watched for over 1.3 billion minutes. The best part of this show is that the entirety was filmed in British Columbia! In both Burnaby and Vancouver - fans especially love the amazing house featured on the show, the amazing Cliffside mansion that had fans seething with jealousy is actually in West Vancouver! Somebody Feed Phil
Phil Rosenthal, creator, writer, producer and now host of a variety of food and travel documentaries began the third season of “Somebody Feed Phil” last year, wherein he journeys around the world sampling the very best cuisines and restaurants that the area has to offer! During this third season Phil visited none other than Canada's own Montreal, giving homage to the classic of Canadian food, he samples amazing poutine at Ma Poule Mouillée and explores the incredible food markets that Montreal has to offer. Afterwards Phil tries griot, malanga croquettes, plantains, jerk chicken and riz au pois – expressing his love for the wide variety of cultures, cuisines and experiences to be enjoyed in Montreal! Virgin River
This show is a modern day Grey’s Anatomy and focuses on Mel, a nurse who moves from LA to a remote town in northern California – and follows her as she starts her new life. Loved by millions, this show focuses on the romance and challenges of Mel’s life. The show also highlights her stunning new surroundings, supposedly Northern California, but are actually shot in Vancouver and British Columbia exclusively! Most of those sweeping panoramic views that show off the exterior of Virgin River were filmed in Snug Cove on Bowen Island, Burnaby, and Port Coquitlam.
